In the near future, it is enough that cars/vehicles only have electric motors, no hybrid options, so you have to have some type of internal combustion engine left. There are already companies/cars that have this concept, BMW I3, Hyundai Ioniq, Nissan e-NV200, Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, VW e-Golf or Tesla eg. Most famous is probably Tesla, a North American car company that designs, manufactures, and sells electric cars and components for electric power lines and home battery batteries. Founded in 2003, the company is the most recently established car company in the United States, based in California. The company was named after the physicist and inventor Nikola Tesla.
